Success breeds success… and by season 2002-03 Burgh had reached the pinnacle of their Scottish leagues adventure, gaining promotion to National League division three and having the honour of being named National League Team of the Year, and having the National League Player of the Year.
The club held its own at that level for many seasons while continuing to churn out some promising young players, some of whom were inevitably drawn to the bright lights of bigger clubs in the city and beyond – a perennial problem for so-called provincial clubs like Helensburgh.
